I am Mr. Jeojomar G. Erro, a faculty member of St. Paul University Philippines, and I had the distinct honor of serving as a chaperone for the recently concluded SPUP-SHS International Immersion in Singapore-Malaysia. This remarkable event, spearheaded by the esteemed Sister Merceditas O. Ang, SPC, the University President, in partnership with SMS Phoenix Global Sdn Bhd and facilitated by the dynamic Dr. Sri Devi Aynaru, Managing Director, was an unparalleled experience in the realms of education and cultural exchange.

The immersion program was meticulously organized and seamlessly executed, offering our Grade 12 students from various strands—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM); and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)—a profound and transformative learning journey.

Our itinerary was a perfect blend of educational visits and cultural tours, making the experience both enlightening and enjoyable. The industry visits provided our students with a firsthand look at global business operations and technological advancements. The discussions on entrepreneurship, AI coding, and robotics were particularly impactful, equipping our students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills that are essential in today’s rapidly evolving world.

The support and active involvement of Dr. Sri Devi Aynaru were instrumental in the success of this immersion. Her dedication to ensuring that every aspect of our visit was enriching and her unwavering support throughout the program were truly commendable. Dr. Sri Devi’s efforts in facilitating the immersion highlighted the strong partnership between St. Paul University Philippines and SMS Phoenix Global Sdn Bhd, underscoring our shared commitment to internationalization and globalization.

The cultural tours in Singapore and Malaysia were nothing short of amazing. They allowed our students to experience and appreciate the rich histories, diverse cultures, and vibrant societies of these two magnificent countries. The entire immersion was a testament to St. Paul University Philippines’ initiatives and advocacies in promoting global education and fostering international understanding.

As a chaperone, I witnessed firsthand the growth and development of our students. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement throughout the immersion were inspiring. The experience not only broadened their horizons but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for global perspectives and multicultural environments.

In conclusion, the SPUP-SHS International Immersion in Singapore-Malaysia was an extraordinary experience that exemplified the vision and mission of St. Paul University Philippines. It was a privilege to be part of this journey, and I am confident that the knowledge and experiences gained will leave a lasting impact on our students, preparing them to be globally competent and culturally aware individuals.
